Unrequited Love?

Kaijou and Seirin had just had their first practice match, which was shaping up to be a tradition of sorts. This time, Kaijou had gone to Seirin. The gym was nice, newer then Kaijou's but maybe not as big. 

 

He was breathing heavily, but smiling broadly. It always felt good to play, even if it was just a practice match and they weren't going all out. After all, he wanted to keep some of his new tricks up his sleeves, just like he was sure Kagami and Kuroko were hiding some of their new tricks too. This year's match had ended in a draw. Better than last year's practice match, which had ended in Kaijou's loss by two points.  

 

Just thinking about Kuroko made Kise look over to the Seirin team, focusing in on the smaller boy. 

 

For awhile now Kise had realized that he had feelings for Kuroko. Kise had looked up to Kuroko for awhile, but it wasn't really until after the Winter Cup that Kise realized he was probably in love with Kuroko. 

 

He took a towel that one of the first years offered him. "Thanks," he said absently. He scrubbed at his face, his thoughts racing. He had been thinking about Kuroko a lot lately, and seeing him only brought those thoughts back to the surface, only pushed aside when the game had begun. Now with the game over he couldn't focus. The warm glow in his chest that came whenever he thought about Kuroko was back with a vengeance.

 

The Kaijou team was gathering their things and getting ready to board the bus. He told the first year that he'd be along in a bit and began to head over to the Seirin team. 

 

"Kurokocchi~" he called out. No time like the present, he thought. He didn't know if Kuroko would return his feelings, but he was hopeful. The time Kuroko had cheered him on while he went up against Haizaki stood out in his mind. 

 

"Kurokocchi! You got a minute?"

I would say I'm more of a "at my own pace" person than I am patient.

Ah, she tried her best to follow those methods, but gave up when she realized the entire household all has their own book collections they're unwilling to pare down. Especially her fashion magazines.

I can see that.

Well, if they sparked joy then they were allowed to stay. My mom uses her methods for her office.

I can see how useful it can be, but our home is practically half a library.

If Dad had his way, ours would be like that. But Mom put her foot down on that.

Saoko-nee is the only big reader in the family other than him. But she prefers non-fiction and the occasional Josei Manga. Mom mostly read legal briefs for her job, and Mihoshi-nee and I read fashion blogs, and I read Shounen Jump.

Your family certainly has an eclectic mix of subjects.

I'd say our books are mostly educational, due to my parents' work - and the other half is entirely fiction from my grandmother and I.

That reminds me, I'll be out to visit one of the universities in Yokohama next month with my family. Then going to Shonan Hiratsuka Tanabata Festival if you'd like to hang out.

Heh. He's not quite awake yet. Well, not all of him.

But you're right, I should attend to him. I'm going to be so sore later, but it's worth it. =)

Don't pull something. Interhigh is soon.

Much more important than sex, in his opinion.

That's something they all agree on. The only one who might disagree would be Aomine.

About half an hour later, Kuroko gets a return text.

Don't worry, we already decided that we wouldn't have sex the week before Interhigh because of that.

Anyway. We're not going to have sex all the time.

That's surprising to me... I assumed most people would throw themselves eagerly into it. Perhaps I've been spending too much time around Aomine-kun - his world views are infecting me.

I mean. It is really fun. And I do want to do it a lot.

There's still a lot to find out between Akashicchi and me. But, well, we have time. And we have basketball as our first love, lol. I'm not going to let my sex drive get in the way of that.

But yeah, Aominecchi probably is affecting how you view normal people. He's a bit oversexed.

It's fine, I barely care about it, so it balances it out. Whenever he starts to complain too much about his non-existent sex life, I divert the conversation to the latest NBA news. Works every time.

Honestly. He just needs to ask Kagamicchi out. Or vice versa. Does Kagamicchi show any inclination of asking Aominecchi?

I don't think it's a priority. Kagami-kun is a little like me in that aspect.

Do you think if I acted couple-like with Kagami-kun, it would make Aomine-kun jealous and prompt him to act?

Hmmm....

I don't know. Maybe?

Honestly. I think he'd jump Kagamicchi at that point.

I don't really understand that feeling, but I'll do my best to trigger it.

Good luck. Hopefully Aominecchi won't shove you out of the way too hard.

I'd give him a good, strong punch if he does.
