Unrequited Love?
Kaijou and Seirin had just had their first practice match, which was shaping up to be a tradition of sorts. This time, Kaijou had gone to Seirin. The gym was nice, newer then Kaijou's but maybe not as big.
He was breathing heavily, but smiling broadly. It always felt good to play, even if it was just a practice match and they weren't going all out. After all, he wanted to keep some of his new tricks up his sleeves, just like he was sure Kagami and Kuroko were hiding some of their new tricks too. This year's match had ended in a draw. Better than last year's practice match, which had ended in Kaijou's loss by two points.
Just thinking about Kuroko made Kise look over to the Seirin team, focusing in on the smaller boy.
For awhile now Kise had realized that he had feelings for Kuroko. Kise had looked up to Kuroko for awhile, but it wasn't really until after the Winter Cup that Kise realized he was probably in love with Kuroko.
He took a towel that one of the first years offered him. "Thanks," he said absently. He scrubbed at his face, his thoughts racing. He had been thinking about Kuroko a lot lately, and seeing him only brought those thoughts back to the surface, only pushed aside when the game had begun. Now with the game over he couldn't focus. The warm glow in his chest that came whenever he thought about Kuroko was back with a vengeance.
The Kaijou team was gathering their things and getting ready to board the bus. He told the first year that he'd be along in a bit and began to head over to the Seirin team.
"Kurokocchi~" he called out. No time like the present, he thought. He didn't know if Kuroko would return his feelings, but he was hopeful. The time Kuroko had cheered him on while he went up against Haizaki stood out in his mind.
"Kurokocchi! You got a minute?"

He wipes away at sweat with the towel now hanging around his neck. "Supposedly, the luster can shine with an entire rainbow of hues." Very fitting for them. "I don't really have an eye for that sort of thing, but maybe in the right light?"

Kise blinked, trying to recall birthstones. Which was... was that like his mom liked turquoise?
"Well, you'd know better than me," Kise said. "I didn't even remember it was my birth gem until now."
He gave Kuroko a hug. "We'll be going. Akashicchi isn't in the mood for burgers, and I need to watch my carb intake - I'm doing skinny jeans next week." He rolled his eyes. Kise was not a fan of skinny jeans, preferring straight cut. "I hate those nut huggers," he grumbled a little. "And I'm going to need my abs on full display. Don't let Aominecchi try to out-eat Kagamicchi again."

"You're asking me to do the impossible, but I'll try." He pulls back, glancing over at Akashi for a brief moment and back to Kise with a considering look. "Make sure you use protection."

Laughing, Kise looked over at Kagami and Aomine who were awkward posturing at each other. "I'm sure you could move some burgers from Aomine's plate into his bag without him noticing."
He's caught off guard by Kuroko's prompting to use protection. "Are we that obvious?" he asked, feeling his face warm. "We have some in our bags." He rubbed the back of his head. "We probably have too many. I bought some, and he bought some. We might have over planned it," he said with a laugh. It's a nice laugh. He's excited, nervous, happy. "But better too prepared than not at all, right?"
He looked over at Akashi, who was looking at Kagami and Aomine with mild confusion.

Kuroko gestures at the dark-skinned boy, who clearly decided to pivot his teasing to Akashi instead. "If I didn't catch on, Aomine-kun would've made it extremely obvious, I'm sure." He packs up his bag and moves towards the others, looking back with a fond smile. "We'll get out of your hair. Have fun?"
Was it weird to wish your friends a good time in this context? Maybe.

Kise looked over at his boyfriend, who was obviously trying to Aomine under control, but the slight blush on his face means he's not going to win as handily as he's used to.
"Pretty sure Aominecchi knows. Kagamicchi probably doesn't. Judging by the confused look on his face."
Kise turns his attention to Kuroko, a soft smile on his face. "I'm sure we will," he said. "We're both a little nervous."
no subject
"D- Damage control," he manages to spit out before rushing over to Akashi's aid, knocking into the back of Aomine's knee to subdue him and grab him by the ear. Kagami is barking out a laugh and offers a wave back as to the pair as his shadow scolds and drags the other squawking light off the court, clearly too amused to see Kuroko is definitely more worked up than usual as he follows after.

Kise follows at a more sedate pace, going over his boyfriend as Kuroko all but tackles Aomine. He put an arm around Akashi's shoulders, and the redhead put his arm around Kise's waist.
"Bye Kurokocchi, bye Kagamicchi, bye Aominecchi!"
If Kuroko looked back at them at that moment, he'd see the blond and redhead looking at each other very fondly.
Tonight, Kise thought, would be a great night.

Kuroko does turn back to wave after letting go of a properly chastised Aomine and ignoring the small pang of jealousy from the sight of them so enamored with each other. He smothers down the feeling, because he knows he really has no right to feel this way.
His friends are happy and that's what matters.

Kurokocchi? You up?
He needed to talk to someone, and between the two people he could talk to about this, one was currently asleep next to him.

It's early, he doesn't have the energy to check his typos.
no subject
He's all giddy.
It was amazing! I mean, I knew it would be. It was a little weird at first and hurt a little until we figured out what we were doing. I know you don't want too many details, but I had to tell someone.

Congratulations, in a more serious manner

Though I guess we were kinda obvious as you guys were leaving.
But thanks. I feel different. Good different. But I wonder if that's more a social thing than a real thing.
Sex made Kise philosophical. Who knew?
no subject
If it feels real to you, it is. i'm glad it was good - not sure what I would've said if you were disappointed.
no subject
I wasn't really expecting it to be bad, but I was expecting it to be awkward for the first time. It was less awkward than I thought it would be.
You know I can use my copy skills for anything? I think that help =)
no subject
Don't try to copy any amazing feats and injure yourself.

Well, obviously, bad sex happens. But Dad says it's like pizza; even if it's bad, it's still sex.
no subject
That's a rather apt metaphor.
You were right, by the way. I looked it up and demisexual fits. And demiromantic, I think. These are all new ideas to me.
no subject
yeah, dad has a bunch of sayings like that. And a lot of euphemisms. He sometimes says them in that distracted way of his and it takes you a couple seconds to get it. It's especially weird when he's wearing two different socks and his shirt buttoned wrong.
Kise rolls onto his stomach, which makes Akashi shift closer to him. He's still getting used to this tactile side of Akashi. He's used to seeing Akashi sleeping absolutely still. Like a fairy tale prince waiting for a kiss.
This Akashi seeking his warmth is better. Even if he's getting poked in the thigh. Well, considering everything, he doesn't mind that at all.
no subject
Remembering that incident takes on an entirely new angle now. Best to keep it out of mind, though. Just because Kuroko can finally define the way he's experiencing things didn't mean he wants to think too heavily on his unrequited feelings.
Your dad is certainly a character.
no subject
ANYWAY let's not talk about that.
Yeah, Dad's weird. He's super relaxed compared to Mom and my sisters, and me, too, I guess. Not that we're high-strung (though Mihoshi-nee can be), but he's, like, Murasakibaracchi levels of laid back.
no subject
My father's a very serious person - so it's interesting to see.
no subject
I think personality-wise, I'm closer to mom's than I am to dad's.
What's your mom like?
